Claude Code plugin

What it is

A plugin for Claude Code that keeps the Karea task you are working on in sync with the session. It shows, under the prompt, whether the task already has what the session did, warns you when someone changes the task in Karea, and gives you one button to write the progress back.

It also brings the Karea skill, so Claude Code follows the Karea conventions (task IDs, statuses, notes and AI context) without a separate install.

Install

Connect the Karea MCP server to Claude Code first (see Connect AI apps). Then type these two lines in Claude Code:

/plugin marketplace add starecz/karea-agentic

/plugin install karea@karea-agentic

Restart Claude Code, or run /reload-plugins. The options (how often to check Karea, which commands count as progress, an optional API key) are under /plugin.

What you see

  • The chip on the hint line: the active task and its state. Green when synced, amber when the session did things the task does not have yet (a commit, a push, a decision), red when the task changed in Karea.
  • Sync now above the prompt when the task is behind: Claude updates the task's AI context and adds a note.
  • Changed in Karea: about every 5 minutes while you work, the plugin asks Karea only what changed on the task since its last check. Edits by a person (in the browser or through Karea AI) are flagged, with who made them; the session's own writes are not.
  • Open subtasks: if closing the task is refused because it still has open subtasks, you are asked whether to close them too or only the task, and Claude carries on with your answer.

Which task is active

  • Pick one with /ksync pick KA123 (or just /ksync KA123).
  • A Claude Code session started from a task with Karea Connect picks that task by itself.
  • Each session keeps its task: close it and resume it later, and the same task is active again.

Other commands: /ksync status, /ksync sync, /ksync review, /ksync pane, /ksync recap and /ksync off.
